allison

Allison

My name is Allison, and I am a teacher from Missouri.

I got in touch with American Debt Control a year ago. My finances were in bad shape. I had missed one payment to Bank of America and then that led to an out-of-control situation. I felt like such a terrible person and was constantly stressed out by the harassing phone calls and letters. I had never had the intention of not paying my bills (trust me when I say I hate to owe anyone). It just happened. The interest and minimum payments ballooned one month after YEARS of paying on time and way over the minimum payments. I chose to pay rent, car payments and food over my credit cards.

I decided I had to get help, so I Googled debt relief and a lot of companies came up. I researched and called a few of them, but ADC was so very nice and understanding that I signed up with them immediately. We worked out a payment plan that would get me out of my $20,000 worth of debt in three years. I was ecstatic to think of being out of debt that quickly. A few months later, I received a phone call from them about getting out of debt even faster.

Six months later, I was out of debt! I paid a total of $3,590 in six months. To go from $20,000 to $3,590 was amazing! It feels so good now to not worry about owing anyone. (I even got a pedicure to celebrate my victory.) I would like to say to anyone thinking about using ADC to go for it. You won't regret it. I have never been happier with a company and its employees, and I have never worked with a nicer bunch of people!

kelly

Kelly:

Hi, my name is Kelly. I am disabled and live in Florida. In May 2006, I owed on five different accounts, totaling $26,678. This debt just crept up on me, as debt tends to do on anyone who finds themselves in the same situation. When the situation really hit me, getting out of debt seemed totally impossible. Being disabled greatly limits my earning potential and I was doing all I could to keep my living expenses paid, let alone pay any credit card accounts etc. I was devastated and didn't know where to turn or what to do. I was stressed out all the time.

My mother heard about American Debt Control on TV. She talked with me about them and explained to me how she thought it worked and asked me if I would like her to check into it further. I told her yes and the rest is history. She contacted them and they explained to her exactly how the program worked.

I signed up with ADC and they initially reduced my debt down to $10,484, a total reduction of $16,194. That was three years ago. It was a wonderful feeling and I felt great relief when the last account was paid off and I realized I was debt free. I now have one credit card for emergencies and my fiancé takes care of that.

The ADC staff were very helpful and caring throughout the whole process, checking every so often to see how I was doing and letting me know how they were doing with negotiations. I would recommend American Debt Control to anyone who finds themselves in a debt-laden situation.

Ryan

Ryan:

My name is Ryan. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and I am currently an Electrical Designer for Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding. I came across American Debt Control after realizing my wife and I were in a bad financial situation. I did extensive research online and found American Debt Control.

We were in credit card debt up to $13,000. American Debt Control was able to knock down our total amount to $2,800. This was all so new to me. I had never been in debt before and, as a matter a fact, had always been in a great credit standard and had quite a large amount in savings. It wasn't until my wife and I got married that we struggled to combine our bills and pay them on time. We were forced to not pay the credit card bill because other bills we felt were more important.

It put us in a financial strain. We struggled for over six months. We constantly felt hassled by the credit card company, receiving phone calls every hour starting from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. We even were expecting our first child during this stressful period. From the $13,000 that we owed to the $2,800 we were reduced to, it took us four months to get to zero debt. Becoming debt free has allowed us to enjoy life more with our friends and family and not have to worry about where we are going, how much we have, and what we can afford.

If there is one thing I would tell people about American Debt Control, it's that they made it extremely easy to understand the process and help you get through it as if they were in your shoes. I received frequent phone calls and e-mails from employees who always wanted to know how we were doing in life.

Sue

Sue:

My name is Sue. By vocation, I am a public speaker, singer and Bible instructor. I’ve traveled extensively for many years, but currently I reside in St. Louis, MO.

At first, I had increasing concern about my debt, which seemed to be “mushrooming” out of control before my eyes. Interest rates skyrocketed, compounding my troubled situation. I began to seek a way to pay off my debt.

I also struggled through a number of years of persistent illness due to my overseas travel. In addition, I was helping my mother through a very tough time in her life dealing with her own terminal illness.

My sister Peg called me and told me about an advertisement she had received in the mail. It was for American Debt Control. I called the local City Commerce of Grapevine, Texas to verify, and they assured me that ADC had an excellent reputation. That was my green light.

My initial debt upon enrollment with ADC was just over $10,000. ADC reduced it to a more reasonable $5,494, without interest.

Being in debt with an interest rate of 29% scared me silly. It was paralyzing. I felt perplexed and overwhelmed. I fought with myself daily not to give in to feelings of defeat and fear. I craved freedom from debt, but I felt so bogged down, stressed and helpless.

It was so contrary to my own aspirations to encourage others and help lift them up. Now I was the one who was being challenged and needed encouragement and help of my own. My family also felt overwhelmed and helpless by my situation. We trusted God to provide a solution to the problem.

It took nearly two years before I became debt-free. It was like a huge weight lifted off of my life. The ball and chain and been cut off and destroyed. I could sleep restfully through the night. I had finally reached the end of the tunnel and walked out into the light. It wasn’t a dream – for the first time in a long time, I was actually living a debt-free life. And it felt wonderful!

Expertise, integrity, confidence, experience, encouragement, compassion, wisdom, patience, resourcefulness, teamwork, influence, hard work, diligence, kind-heartedness, respect, and friends – these are the words I would use to describe my experience with American Debt Control. They led me through the process to the end result, which was ultimately a debt-free life. My world has changed dramatically, and every day I thank God for bringing them into my life.

I highly recommend ADC to all those who seek freedom from the grip of relentless debt.

Truly grateful,
Sue

Doug:

My name is Doug and I currently reside in Cheyenne, Wyoming and am employed by Frontier Refining, Inc.

After my divorce was finalized in 2007 I was left with a substantial amount of credit card debt that I was completely unaware of. At the time I was in dire straits and desperately wanted to be free of the debt that I was left with. I knew that I needed to seek help in the matter as I was unable to make the minimum payments required.

Initially when I found out how much in debt I actually was following the divorce, I felt immediately overwhelmed and helpless. I contemplated several options but just knew that I would be unable to negotiate and pay them off on my own in a relatively small time frame. It made me feel ashamed and embarrassed because I had hit a new low in my life and it deeply affected my credit. As for my family, at the time I was beginning to start a new life following my divorce and it was a huge drawback in my quest to have a fresh start.

The initial amount of debt amounted to approximately $20,000.00 and American Debt Control was able to settle the total amount for approximately $8,200.00. When I paid off the final creditor I felt relieved and successful. Initially, the idea of settling the debt so quickly seemed unimaginable and too good to be true but I did it and I made a vow with myself that I would not be in an overwhelming amount of debt ever again. Due to other matters that occurred because of my financially destructive divorce, I am not entirely debt free but I am to a point in my life where I no longer have credit card debt.

Remember that you determine how fast you want to become debt-free. It is a commitment and does require saving money but it is well worth it in the end. It is actually quite simple really, all you are responsible for is saving money and staying in touch with your customer care representative. It is such an easier process communicating with customer care rather than the creditors themselves and you really feel like the customer care representatives have your best interests at heart. American Debt Control helps keep you on track with savings and holds you accountable for your ultimate goal of becoming debt free. They are by your side every step of the way!

Lisa

Lisa:

Dear ADC,

My name is Lisa Smith and I am so grateful to be able to share my story in a testimonial to your future clients. I live in Ossining, NY. My husband works in computers and I work in Dog Daycare. We have two daughters, ages five and two years old.

My husband and I were both working, making a lot of money and paying American Express in full every month. We were paying our credit card company close to $10,000 a month in new charges. The company I was working for had become successful and the owner had decided to sell it. After 10 years of my running it, I was out of a job. I thought that my family would be okay because we had close to $250,000 in savings put aside. We continued to live the same lifestyle thinking that I would work again soon.

After two months of being home with my two-year-old daughter, I started to job hunt. I came across an ad for a partnership in a dog daycare business that had potential. I checked out the business and spent $25,000 to become a partner. Owning my own business that had only been open a year would mean no income for the next two years.

A few months after buying into this business, my husband was laid off. I never dreamed this would happen but we were still able to pay American Express in full and hoped that things would turn around for us. My husband spent six months unemployed. I worked long hours, mostly 14-hour days. I never gave up hope and saw a bright future for my family.

We had a home that we owned and rented out. We lived in my parents' attic and continued to rent out our house to cover our large monthly mortgage payment. We paid some basic expenses out of pocket. Our renters notified us they were leaving and we were unable to rent our house for eight months. We paid a $4,000 mortgage out of pocket for an empty house. We still paid our credit card on time, in full, every month.

A few months into paying my mortgage, my father and best friend were in a bad car accident. This was the direct result of a young kid running a red light in the pouring rain. My father, in his seventies, had several broken bones and would not be able to recover at home. While recovering, and on disability for his injuries, his employer packed his belongings and fired him. He was able to manage for a few months with no income and then turned to me and began asking me for money.

He was desperate, and had never asked me for a dime in his life. I started to lend him $3,000–$4,000 at a time. Over the next eight months it would total $30,000. I now started paying the minimum on my credit card so that I could help support my father. I called American Express to set up a payment plan to repay the debt. I also never seemed to be able to get my balance down. I asked them what my finance rate was and they told me they raised it to 38%. I asked if they could lower it since I had been such a great client for so many years and they said no.

I set up a payment plan that left me in debt to them for a large chunk of my life. I felt that I had no other option. I made my first payment right before Christmas. I remember getting the flu and not being upset because it gave me an excuse to not have to buy presents for my family. I couldn't afford to. I felt ashamed and hid it. Just a few years earlier I was on top of the world. Now I had been broken and lost hope.

My father-in-law suddenly became ill and died at age 65. My husband was suffering. I did not feel well and felt like we hit bottom. I missed the second payment to American Express and they immediately had a man from their collection agency call me at work. I agreed to pay $4,000 per month to pay down my $77,000 in debt. He laughed and said that only covered the interest and he would not accept this. He wanted half of the total amount as a down payment and $4,000 per week after this. I told him that I could not agree to an amount that I would default on. I had to be able to pay this.

As part of the deal, he also warned me that American Express would attach a lien to my house, repossess our cars and refinance my house using his broker. This guy came on real strong. I told him I would make my husband sell his car but did not feel comfortable using his real estate broker and refused to do that.

I was at work, and afraid that employees or clients could walk in at any moment. This guy was pretty scary. I told him that I could probably come up with $20,000 right away and that was unacceptable to him. I told him I needed a week to get my head together, speak to my husband and come up with a plan that he would accept.

I couldn't eat or sleep. I sat by my window for the next few nights thinking I heard the repo man coming to take our cars away. I went online with my husband and typed a search for debt relief. ADC came up. Kristi was so friendly and informative. It sounded wonderful but we were cautious. We were so scared that we were making a mistake. We were nervous and under a lot of pressure. We had to make a quick decision. We signed up with Kristi who said that she would help us and that our worries were over. She told me what to say to make my bully leave me alone at work and stop bothering me so that she alone could resolve my debt.

The next day I used this approach with American Express. The man cursed and threw a fit of rage. He called me at work with violent threats and called my mom and my mother in law (who was just widowed). He told them both that we owed American Express $77,000 and we were delinquents for not paying our debt. We were mortified. We had a lot of explaining to do. For the next month, he pestered my mom and mother in law, harassing senior citizens and embarrassing us.

Over the next few months, ADC had assigned a rep who would negotiate a final deal with American Express. I had no idea what was about to come. My phone calls and e-mails were always taken care of immediately. I never had to wait for an answer. The phone calls from American Express were gone. I felt some relief that my debt was being negotiated on my behalf by ADC.

ADC asked me to write a hardship letter, similar to this one. It was therapeutic for me. I was starting to feel that this was going to be resolved. My husband remained skeptical but I was still hopeful. One day I got an urgent message from ADC. AMEX wanted to settle for $38,000. I said "no", we couldn't afford it. My rep went back to American Express and argued on my behalf even more. She called me that night around 9 p.m. after a long day in the office. The good news was they were willing to take $21,000 as settlement in full.

My husband and I quickly got our money together, hoping this deal would go through. The next day we received an offer in writing from American Express. Less than a year from the day I called ADC, this matter was solved. This was a miracle. Our nightmare was over. We were so grateful to the team at ADC for working so hard on our behalf.

Friends and financial advisors told us not to use debt relief companies and we chose not to listen to those people close to us. We were right. We are now debt free and will never trust a credit card company again.

We are living in our house, have had another little girl. My company has now expanded and I am making money. My husband is employed. My father is in good health again, working and repaying us slowly. We recently started saving again. Our family is healthy and stress free thanks to ADC. We appreciated what they gave us, the freedom to move forward and live again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ADC.

Terri

Terri:

Hi, my name is Terri and I live in Tempe, Arizona. I work for a convenience store company and do payroll. I first heard about American Debt on a local channel here in Phoenix. I was struggling with one creditor and was not getting any results from them. So I decided to seek some help and that's where American Debt came in.

My debt was up to about $7,800 on my card and it was very difficult to even make the minimum payment. So after a phone call and speaking with one of the consultants at American Debt Control, I knew right then and there that I could rely on them to help me get myself out of debt. It was easy – all I did was sign up and make a monthly payment to them and I was on my way to being debt free.

It took about a year but it was worth it. After all was said done, I only ended up paying 40% of my total debt that was owed. I can say it was a tough decision at first, making a commitment to American Debt Control to come up with that monthly payment. It was hard but I was determined to stick with it so I could get that burden off my shoulders. Once I made my last payment – wow – it was a great relief. So for anyone who is really committed to getting themselves out of debt, it's worth getting in touch with American Debt Control.

Dianna:

Hi, my name is Dianna and we live in Washington, Iowa.

We have been with American Debt Control since November '08. We had $30,000 of credit card debt, which would have taken us years to pay. They were able to save us $24,000 in nine months. I am very happy we saw their ad on TV.

Elizabeth:

It's been over four years coming. I can't even begin to tell you the sacrifices I had to make to get this all behind me. I sold my home, sold my car, sold my jewelry, and worked two jobs. I know it will be worth it to be "debt free" and it has been a long time coming.

I have refused to play the victim. I could have easily blamed the mortgage company for giving me the ARM loan back in 2004. I could have played the "single mom victim." I could have easily blamed my ex-husband for not paying the child support he has owed me (which was over $20,000). But instead, I pulled myself up and figured out how to get out of the mess I have been in for four years.

Here I am today! As of October of this year (when MBNA will no longer debit my account for $2,300 a month), I will be debt free! I am jumping for joy. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for helping me. Mine is truly a success story.

My experience has been fabulous with ADC. I loved that you kept in touch with me. That any time I had a question, it was answered. Great customer service, very helpful and honest. I appreciated and respected that – and it made my experience a good one. Not to mention that I am finished and settled sooner than I ever expected, with huge savings on my debt. Thank-you again for all you have done for me.

Muhammad:

I am Muhammad, client of American Debt Control for the debt settlement program. I am a student trying to obtain my Masters Degree in Business Administration. Currently, I am living in the Denton area in Texas.

Getting under huge debt was one of the biggest problems for me. I was feeling intense emotional and financial pressure due to having debt. Therefore, I decided to contact with different debt management companies. I talked to three or four different debt consolidation companies, but I was not totally satisfied.

One day, I was checking local phone directory/yellow pages and found the name of American Debt Control. On the very same day, I called American Debt Control and explained my entire financial and debt situation. I was very satisfied and decided to enroll in the company's program for debt settlement. I also give huge credit to my wife who always supported me and recommended searching for a good debt settlement company to pay off my debt.

When I enrolled myself in the American Debt Control program, my total debt was about $45,000. ADC helped me a lot in getting very good settlements from different creditors. I was even able to pay off the creditors with more than 50% debt reduction a few settlements were so good that I was able to pay just 30% of my original debt.

The problem of having huge debt started after my father's death in 2004. Huge debt and heavy financial pressure affected my personal life and relationships a lot. But I am very happy that good days are coming back and big credit also goes to American Debt Control, which helped me a lot to be free from debt. Within just one year, I was able to pay off most of my creditors.

I have no hesitation in recommending the name of American Debt Control to any person interested in getting rid of all debt. If people want financial freedom and peace of mind, they can join American Debt Control with complete trust and confidence.

Shawn:

My name is Shawn and I live in a small town in Arizona. Two years ago I found myself in a terrible financial struggle. I felt like I was pinned under a large, dark, wet blanket with no hope of getting out from under it.

My debt consumed my thoughts day and night. My marriage was really put to the test. I reached a point when I could no longer juggle my 15 credit card balances from one card to another. I finally realized I could never pay the nearly $90,000 balance in five lifetimes. The penalties and interest were astonishing. My health was suffering. I was on the edge of bankruptcy.

Then I found hope. I ran across a Web site for American Debt Control. They were wonderful to work with. They helped my wife and I get our lives back on track. At the present time my sweet wife and I each have a credit card. They are both used sparingly. And guess what? They both have a zero balance each month, thanks largely to American Debt Control.

Robert:

To All Credit Card Debtors Seeking Relief,

I would highly recommend American Debt Control because of their outstanding support and customer service. After checking out a number of such services, I asked every question I could think of before agreeing to apply for their services.

Initially I owed $14,520, after my minimal balances were raised to maximum by the credit card companies. I had been paying $550 a month to try to get all of my account balances down, but the combined minimal payments were more than half of what I was paying. Thus, I decided to turn to a debt settlement company.

American Dept Control helped me to settle for $6,935, which was a savings of $5,490 , when figuring in the fee that is charged by ADC. Thus, I felt very reassured during the whole process, with all the phone/online support that covered roughly one-and-a-half years.
